The fashion industry is the second largest-polluter of water globally and emits 10% of global carbon emissions. Every second, the equivalent of one garbage truck of textiles is landfilled or burned.

FS aims to be part of the solution, not the problem.

FS will integrate sustainability into the entire production of the show from sponsors to eco-friendly decorations to committee practices. Additionally, in the past year FS introduced the Sustainable Fashion Program. We pledged that a minimum of 20% of the FS2020 collections showcased would be created using sustainable practices such as zero-waste, upcycling, or reconstruction. We surpassed that having had 36% (9 of our 25 collections) of the designers meet these standards in our show and we plan to match if not exceed that in 2021.

Not only do we want to implement sustainable practices, but we want to educate our community on why they are vital to ensuring a sustainable future. The launch of F4TE Week will be an opportunity for several speakers, businesses, and brands to directly  reach our community and further the mission of sustainability.
